Grade 8 Exploration Of Confederation

Dear sissy:

I am in Newfoundland at this moment as an elected member of parliament. Since the French are allowed to catch fish and dry them on the west shore of this island colony. I fear that the French want to use this shore for more than just fishing stations.

Also I am afraid to lose my independence since Britain granted the island its own in 1855.

me along with other Newfoundlanders do not like confederation and we are going to try and stop it.

Since I am an elected member of parliament, I get to contribute in the decisions for my colony. Isn't that cool!

Stronger Punishment For Bullies In School

Sir, I strongly care about bullying in school and I think that there isn't enough being done about the bullying so I am going to take a stand and say "there should be stronger punishment for school bullies."

You have to understand, every day there are millions of students getting bullied, they are getting pushed shoved and possibly even sexually harassed. It could even be your child getting bullied and you may not even notice.

When a child is being bullied and if they do find the strength and courage to tell a teacher the teacher may not even care or believe them and if they do they don't give the bully a standard consequence. I am fed up with all the contracts and second chances that I am seeing, there needs to be a stronger punishment. If it was your child being bullied wouldn't you want the worst punishment in the world for that bully? Well why isn't it the same for other children?

With this stronger punishment the consequences could be expelling the bully and there should be counselling for the bully because it is a proven fact that bullies have bottled up emotions that they take out on other students. Counselling will help solve all those emotions and make the school a more pleasant place.

I also feel that teachers don't understand why bullies do what they do.

If you enforce stronger punishment for school bullies there will be less drama in the school. Just think about your child and them getting bullied,would you feel bad then.
